How to add your first people
Three ways to get a roster into Kangaroo Clock: typed one-at-a-time, paste a list, upload a CSV, or connect a GrasshopperSignup form for live sync.
-
How to share clock-in with your team
Three clock-in modes share the same dashboard: kiosk on a tablet at the door, personal URL per person, or a posted QR code. Pick whichever fits the location.
-
How to make a kiosk for one team or event
Create a named kiosk scoped to one or more tags so a tablet or poster shows only those people (one crew or a single event) instead of your whole roster.
-
How to import a GrasshopperSignup form
Paste your GrasshopperSignup form's Responses URL once and re-sync any time. Names dedupe automatically. No CSV download needed, no manual upload.
-
How to keep checking people in if the tablet or wifi fails
Print a paper check-in sheet ahead of time and keep it by the kiosk. If the tablet dies or the internet drops, people sign in by hand and you key the hours in later.
-
How to rename Workers to Volunteers or Staff
Each workspace picks its own term for the people it tracks. Choose a preset (Workers, Volunteers, Staff, Tutors, Crew) or write your own singular and plural.
-
How to download a CSV for payroll
From Reports, pick a date range, optionally filter by worker, tag, or group, and click Download CSV. Schema is locked so payroll providers don't break.
-
How to fix a missed clock-out
Add a past entry from the worker's edit page with exact start and end times, or edit the still-open entry directly to set the missing clock-out time.
-
How to handle multiple events or programs
Make a tag per program and apply it to the people on it, then filter reports by tag. One workspace covers all your programs, no per-event setup.
-
How to set up auto-close for missed clock-outs
Auto-close has two modes: rolling hours from the start time, or daily at a local clock time. Flagged entries land in the review queue for admin approval.
-
How the kiosk PIN works
Workers set their own 4-digit PIN on the first tap; admins can reset it but never see it. Optional per-workspace, off by default for trust-based teams.
-
How to keep the kiosk screen from going to sleep
The kiosk asks the browser to keep the screen on, but older tablets and Low Power Mode can ignore it. Set the tablet's own auto-lock to Never to be sure.
-
How to run the kiosk as a full-screen app
Pin the kiosk to a tablet's home screen, or install it as a desktop app, so it opens full-screen with no browser bars. Add to Home Screen from Safari on iPad; Install from Chrome or Edge on Android and desktop.
-
How to rotate the kiosk URL if it leaks
One click in Settings rotates the kiosk URL: the old one stops working immediately and the new one starts at the new address. Use after losing a tablet.
-
What does archive do? Can I un-archive?
Archive hides someone from the kiosk picker and personal links, but past clock-ins stay in reports and CSV exports. Reversible from the Archived view.
-
How do tags work and where do I apply them?
Tags label your people by role, location, or program. Apply on a person's edit screen; someone can carry several. They shorten the kiosk and filter reports.
-
How to switch between QR mode and the kiosk
QR mode and the kiosk are different tools: shared tablet at a counter vs. each person on their own phone. Both can be live at the same time, same dashboard.
-
How to add your logo and brand color
Add your logo and brand color to the kiosk, personal links, QR pages, and the printable verification letter. Kangaroo Clock keeps text readable automatically.
-
How to clock someone in or out manually
From the Workers page, the Clock-in/Clock-out button next to a name uses the current time. For retroactive entries, open the person's page and add a past entry.
-
How to try Kangaroo Clock without a signup
The /demo page is a real kiosk simulator backed by localStorage. Add workers, clock them in and out, see admin dashboards. Save into a real account anytime.
-
How sign-in works
Sign in with Google or get a magic link sent to your email. Tap the link, or paste the 6-digit code from the email. Session lasts 30 days on the same browser.

How to sign in with a password
