How do tags work and where do I apply them?

Updated June 2026

A tag is a label you put on people by role, location, or program. Kitchen vs front of house, the Saturday crew, a grant-funded team.

Where to apply them

Create tags under Settings → Tags. Then open a person from Workers and check the tags that apply. A person can carry as many as you like, so someone on two teams gets both.

To tag a lot of people at once, select them on the Workers list and use Add tag.

What tags do

  • Shorten the kiosk. Make a kiosk scoped to a tag (under Kiosks in the nav) and its tablet shows only that tag's people instead of the whole roster — see How to make a kiosk for one team or event.
  • Filter reports. Total one program's hours on their own, e.g. for a grant report.
  • Protect identities. Mark a tag private and its people don't show by name on any kiosk (see the kiosk privacy settings).

Reports

Open Reports and pick a tag in the filter to slice the hours to just those people.
