Nonprofit hours have three audiences

The hours data a nonprofit collects has three real readers: grant funders, your board, and (sometimes) the IRS. Each one cares about something different.

• Grant funders want total volunteer hours, distinct-volunteer count, and hours by program. They're checking that the impact numbers in your application match the activity numbers in your annual report.
• Your board wants the trend line: are you growing volunteer engagement, or losing it? Are some programs running on fumes?
• The IRS (on Form 990) wants volunteer counts in aggregate, plus compensated employee hours if you have paid staff.

Most general-purpose time trackers don't surface these as first-class numbers. You end up doing pivot tables on the CSV every reporting cycle.

What's different about Kangaroo Clock for nonprofits

Distinct-worker count is a first-class metric in the reports page, not something you compute by hand from a CSV. The export schema is locked, so once your accountant or grant administrator has built a pivot template for the file, it never breaks.

The pricing model doesn't punish you for having a lot of volunteers. Most nonprofits have something they can credibly point at, "Volunteers have contributed 4,247 hours to our food bank this year", but no easy way to share it. Kangaroo Clock's public hours page (v1 fast-follow after the MVP) gives you a shareable URL with that aggregate stat, optionally broken down by program or month. Link it from grant reports, funder updates, board memos, or social posts. The math is computed live from your real clock-ins, so it's always current.
