Homebase alternative

Looking for a Homebase alternative that's just hours?

Kangaroo Clock skips the scheduling, messaging, and HR bundling. Track hours, export clean CSVs, move on.

What Homebase does well

Homebase is a real workforce-management platform. The shift scheduling is good, the team messaging works, the hiring and HR tools cover most small-business needs. If you want one tool that handles scheduling, time tracking, employee communication, and payroll handoff, Homebase is a defensible single pane of glass.

Where Kangaroo Clock fits instead

If your only real need is "who worked, when, for how long, give me the hours," Homebase is a lot of product to navigate. Most of the screens are about scheduling, messaging, or hiring, workflows you may not run.

Kangaroo Clock is the version that's just the hours. Five-minute setup, three clock-in surfaces (shared tablet, QR poster, personal links), a clean report that feeds payroll. Nothing else. If you're already running scheduling somewhere else (Google Calendar, a paper schedule, a separate scheduling tool), the rest of Homebase is overhead.

You should stay with Homebase if…

Stay with Homebase if you need scheduling and time tracking in one place, if your team communicates through the Homebase app, or if you're already paying for the payroll handoff. Homebase is also the right call for a single-location restaurant or retailer that wants the bundled HR features.

Common questions

Does Kangaroo Clock do scheduling?

No. Time tracking only. If you want scheduling, keep your existing tool (or Homebase) and use Kangaroo Clock for the hours half.

Can Kangaroo Clock send hours to my payroll provider directly?

Not via direct integration in v1. You export a clean CSV and upload it to your payroll provider. The CSV schema is locked, so once your payroll provider accepts the format it won't break.

How does Kangaroo Clock's pricing compare to Homebase?

Kangaroo Clock is free for everyone at launch. Paid tiers will come later but will always be flat, never per-location or per-seat. Homebase's pricing scales with both.
