Harvest alternative

Looking for a Harvest alternative for non-billing teams?

Kangaroo Clock is built for teams that don't invoice clients, flat pricing, no projects, no worker login.

Updated June 2026

What Harvest does well

Harvest is a beautifully designed agency time-and-invoicing tool. The project-tracking, the invoice generation, the expense capture, the QuickBooks integration, all of it is polished and fits the agency workflow well. If your job is selling time to clients and then invoicing for it, Harvest is one of the genuinely good tools in that category.

Kangaroo Clock vs Harvest at a glance

High-level capability comparison. For exact pricing and feature checklists, check Harvest's site, it stays more current than anything we'd cache here.

Capability Harvest Kangaroo Clock
Billable-hours focus Core, projects, clients, rates, invoices. None, KC isn't a billing tool.
Worker login Required. None. Three clock-in modes, no accounts.
Pricing model Per-seat ($13.75/user/mo). Flat pricing (free at launch).
Invoicing Built in, Harvest's design center. Out of scope.
QuickBooks / Xero integration Native. CSV export only. No accounting integration in v1.

Where Kangaroo Clock fits instead

Harvest is built around the agency-billing workflow: track hours by project, send an invoice. That's a coherent product. It's also the wrong shape for any team that doesn't invoice, restaurants, volunteer programs, event crews, tutoring centers, internal employees.

Kangaroo Clock removes the entire billing layer. Workers tap a name, hours accumulate, a CSV comes out. No projects, no clients, no rates, no invoices. If you're already doing payroll in a separate tool (Gusto, ADP, a checkbook), Harvest's invoice features are overhead you're paying for and not using.

You should stay with Harvest if…

Stay with Harvest if you invoice clients for time, if your team's workflow centers on projects and rates, or if you actively use Harvest's expense tracking and QuickBooks integration. Harvest is the right tool for an agency or a consultancy.

Common questions

Can Kangaroo Clock generate invoices?

No, deliberately. KC is hours-only, no invoicing, no expense capture, no client management.

How is Kangaroo Clock cheaper than Harvest?

Kangaroo Clock is free for everyone at launch and pricing will always be flat. Harvest charges $13.75/user/mo, so a 20-person team costs $275/mo, KC costs nothing today and will be flat-priced when tiers come later.

Can I import historical hours from Harvest?

Not via direct migration. Export Harvest's CSV for your records; KC starts fresh from when you switch.
