Buddy Punch is built around the assumption that the employer wants verification: did this specific person punch in, were they actually on-site. That's a coherent posture for some service businesses.
Kangaroo Clock exists for the segment where that posture is the wrong one, volunteer programs, restaurant staff who'd quit over a webcam punch, tutoring centers where the trust model just doesn't need verification at that level.
