The clock-in QR code won't scan

You posted a QR poster so people can clock in from their own phones, and someone says it will not scan. Almost every time it is one of a few physical issues, not the code itself. Work through these in order.

1. It is printed too small

A QR code needs roughly a 2-inch square minimum to scan reliably from a foot away, and bigger if people scan from across a doorway. The Kangaroo Clock Print QR poster page outputs it large on purpose. Reprint the full poster rather than shrinking it onto a label.

2. Low contrast or a colored background

QR scanning depends on sharp dark-on-light contrast. A code printed on colored paper, laminated with a glare, or faded from a low-ink printer is hard for a camera to lock onto. Print black on white, and if you laminate, use a matte sleeve to kill reflections.

3. Glare and lighting

Direct overhead light or a sunny window reflecting off the poster will wash out the pattern. Post it at eye level on a non-glossy surface, out of direct glare. This single change fixes most "it worked yesterday" reports.

4. The phone's camera app

Modern iPhone and Android cameras scan QR codes natively. Tell people to open the regular Camera app and point it at the code, not to hunt for a separate scanner app. A banner or link should pop up to tap.

5. The code is genuinely stale

If you regenerated a kiosk link or rotated a token, an old printed poster points at a dead URL. Reprint from the current Print QR poster page so the embedded link matches your live workspace.

Still stuck? Give people a second path
